Film scanning services using the VX4000 high-resolution film scanner.

This scanner has two important features in its design that discriminate it from all other scanners on the market.

1.The VX4000 has a continuously variable resolution. This means that when the imagery is scanned it can be collected at exactly the desired resolution. The VX4000 scanner is one of the fastest scanners on the market today for resolution.

2. The VX4000 also uses a unique technology to reference itself for reassembling the image tiles, called a reseau grid. This grid is referenced each time a tile is collected and allows the tiles to be placed back together with extreme accuracy. In fact this scanner is the only type of high-resolution scanner installed on US Navy aircraft carriers because of its accuracy and stability regardless of the environment!

There are two software features of the VX4000 that are also unique to this scanner.

1. On-the-fly digital dodging - This scanner has the ability to dodge imagery during the scanning process. The data can be picked up by the scanner and integrated into the imagery before it is lost.

2. Custom LUT Building - Many times, in order to produce the best possible scan from the image, it is necessary to enhance the look of the image during the scan. To do this the VX4000 allows the use of look up tables to change the way the scanner reacts to various light levels. Once again the alteration is taking place during the scan so there are no problems in the histogram and data is not lost during this process.
